CRASH is the final novel in The Game trilogy, and we’re excited to have author Eve Silver here to tell us more about it.
Eve, what book or books would most resonate with readers who love CRASH–or visa versa?
There are a ton of gaming elements in RUSH, PUSH and CRASH, so I think that readers who enjoy those aspects will like James Dashner’s EYE OF MINDS, Orson Scott Card’s ENDER’S GAME, Ursula Poznanski’s EREBOS, Ernest Cline’s READY PLAYER ONE, Reki Kawahara’s manga SWORD ART ONLINE (I have not read this yet but it has been recommended to me), and Hiroya Oku’s manga GANTZ (I heard about this manga just after I’d written RUSH and read the first in the series…very cool and the concept of teens pulled into an alternate world to fight aliens is similar). But RUSH, PUSH and CRASH are about more than gaming. There’s romance and action and adventure and mystery and aliens…
What advice would you most like to pass along to other writers?
The most important bit of advice I can share is BICHOK—butt in chair, hands on keyboard (or if you prefer to write the old fashioned way, with a pen on paper, then BICHOP). Writers write. If you’re talking about writing, thinking about writing, dreaming about writing, planning to write, but you aren’t actually writing, then you aren’t a writer. But if you write, even if you think the writing isn’t good enough or funny enough or scary enough or perfect, then you are still a writer. So get busy. I want to hear the clack of those keys.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on several projects all at once. I’ve been playing with two different middle grade ideas. I’ve written a proposal for a YA gothic suspense and another for a YA space adventure about hate, love, revenge and forgiveness. I’m also returning to a series I published years ago, the Northern Waste and I’m writing a novella set in that world featuring two characters I love: Raina and Wizard.
ABOUT THE BOOK
Crash

Hardcover
Katherine Tegen Books
Released 6/9/2015
A thrilling action/suspense novel for fans of The Fifth Wave about contemporary teens pulled in and out of an alternate reality where battling aliens is more than a game—it’s life and death.
Miki’s life is falling apart around her. Her dad and best friend are lying in the hospital. The Game is glitching, making missions more frequent and more deadly. And someone close to her is waiting for the right moment to betray her.
Miki feels like she’s hanging on by a thread and the only thing keeping her tethered is Jackson’s hand in hers. Yet telling him how much she needs him, how much she loves him, feels like the biggest challenge of all. And if Miki really wants the missions to end for everyone, she’ll have to let go and be ready to fight when the walls between the Game and reality come crashing down. Because if there’s one thing she’s learned, it’s that she’s got a whole lot left to lose.
Crash is the pulse-pounding conclusion to the Game trilogy fans won’t want to miss.
